Numerology is calculated through a series of specific steps, primarily involving the reduction of complex numbers to simpler, single-digit forms or master numbers. The two most fundamental calculations in numerology are the determination of the Life Path number and the Expression number.

  1. Life Path Number: The Life Path number, often considered the most important in numerology, is calculated from an individual's birthdate. The process involves reducing the numbers of the birthdate (day, month, and year) to a single digit, unless it results in one of the master numbers (11, 22, or 33). This calculation reflects the person's life journey and purpose.

  2. Expression Number: The Expression number is derived from a person's full birth name, including their first, middle, and last names. Each letter of the name is assigned a numerical value based on a specific numerological system, such as the Pythagorean or Chaldean method. The values of all letters are then added together and reduced to a single digit or master number. This calculation reveals the individual's inherent qualities and potential.

  3. Soul Urge Number and Personality Number: Additional numbers, such as the Soul Urge and Personality numbers, can be calculated in a similar manner using the vowels and consonants in the birth name. These numbers provide further insights into a person's desires, motivations, and outward personality.

  4. Master Numbers: In numerology, the numbers 11, 22, and 33 are considered master numbers and are not further reduced to single digits. These numbers are associated with heightened spiritual potential and are considered significant in their own right.

  5. Compatibility Analysis: Numerology can also be used to assess compatibility between individuals, particularly in the context of relationships. This is done by calculating and comparing the Life Path numbers of each person, evaluating the harmony or challenges indicated by the numbers.

Numerology's strength lies in its ability to provide insights into an individual's character, life path, and potential influences based on these calculated numbers. While the specific calculations may vary depending on the numerological system used, the core principle remains the reduction of numbers to their symbolic and vibrational essence for interpretation and insight.
